A copy of a letter sent to the Surveyor General, 1819 May 1.

A copy made by Livingston, of a letter he sent to the New York State Surveyor General offering his services as a surveyor. The survey to be done was one in Dutchess and Putnam counties as required by a recent act of the legislature. Livingston makes some statements as to the age and accuracy of the existing surveys, which were done shortly after the American Revolution.
